Vedic Birth Chart (jyotiṣa, rāśi cakra)

v—

Positions from Swiss Ephemeris; rāśi/bhāva/nakṣatra/daśā rules cited by verse against the project wiki (BJ = Bṛhajjātaka, BPHS = Bṛhat Parāśara Horā Śāstra). · Runs entirely in your browser -- birth data never leaves your device.

Birth data
Birth place
Only connects to OpenStreetMap once you press this -- nothing loads until then.
A modern UTC offset applied to a historical birth is the single most common source of a wholly wrong chart -- this list resolves the offset actually in force on the birth date, not today's offset. Picking a place on the map can suggest a zone, but never silently applies one.
Chart settings BJ 1.14 names only the mūlatrikoṇa sign; BPHS 3.51-54 alone additionally gives a degree-arc within it -- a genuine BJ/BPHS divergence, not an elaboration. Affects the Dignity tab only.
Divisional charts (ṣoḍaśavarga)

Which vargas to compute (ChartConfig.vargas). D9 (navāṃśa) is included by default alongside D1 -- it is the one divisional chart used almost universally alongside the rāśi chart. D2 (horā) and D30 (triṃśāṃśa) report a graha lord per division, not a rāśi, so they render as a table, not a diagram -- see the Vargas tab.

The chart is wider than a phone screen -- swipe to see all of it, or switch to "Report" (which wraps).

Fill in the birth data on the left and press "Cast chart".
About this site: rules are cited by verse against the project wiki (Bṛhajjātaka and Bṛhat Parāśara Horā Śāstra); three things the classical texts do not decide -- ayanāṃśa, house division, diagram layout -- are exposed above as explicit settings rather than silent defaults, and every generated report/prompt restates them.

Privacy: this page runs the Python engine directly in your browser via Pyodide. Birth data lives only in your device's memory while the page is open -- it is never uploaded, never written to a server, never logged. The only network requests this page makes are for the Pyodide runtime and this site's own vendored files (engine, Swiss Ephemeris data, map library); OpenStreetMap tiles and search are requested only after you explicitly open the map picker.

Limits: dignity, both dṛṣṭi (aspect) systems, and thirteen of the sixteen classical divisional charts (ṣoḍaśavarga) are computed -- see the Dignity, Graha-dṛṣṭi, Rāśi-dṛṣṭi and Vargas tabs. D3, D27 and D60 are refused outright (a genuine gap in the source recension, not merely unimplemented) and are not offered above. Yoga, aṣṭakavarga and longevity (āyurdāya) are still not computed at all -- see the LLM prompt export for the full list. This is a research and self-exploration tool, not a medical or financial one.
